A blog about my vintage camper re-do and anything else that might be on my mind at the time.

Vintage Love/2
Today I'm recovering from the two root canals I had yesterday. Tomorrow I will be ripping out the old carpet. I wonder what the floor covering underneath will look like? Could be interesting........laters

Rain drops keep falling on my head.......
Well, with all the rain over the weekend, I didn't do any work on the outside of my camper. After a quick, not thorough, cleaning, I took the measurements of all the cushions. Sewing is something I can be doing while waiting on the repair work. I do dread tearing out the damaged wood but I sure look forward to the finished product. This is sooooo exciting!

Vintage Love
April 28, 2013
I am brand new to the blogging scene but I thought it'd be fun and maybe even enlightening to share my journey.
I just, this last week, bought a lil darlin' of a camper. I've been looking for several months and just knew I'd know it when I found "the one". Well.............I happened up on her and now she's mine. She's definitely the one :-)
She doesn't have a for sure name yet but she will very soon. I grew up camping with my mom, dad and brother. We made some of the happiest memories that all came rushing back and pulled at my heart strings the minute I saw her.
She was sitting in the backyard of someone that I didn't even know and she didn't even have a 'For Sale' sign on her. It just so happened that the owner was sitting on his front porch so I did something totally out of character for me. I stopped, got out, introduced myself, shook his hand, and asked him if he'd be interested in selling it. He very kindly said "well, it needs some work but if you want to buy it, that'd be ok with me." She's a 1978 Serro Scotty Sportsman. He took me to look inside and I fell in love. Yes, she needs some work. There is quite a bit of water damage on one end and she has a few "character" dings on the outside but that didn't tarnish my vision. I have some great plans for her.
It is my goal to document, with verse and pictures, the journey. I hope you enjoy and maybe even give me some pointers along the way.

This and the next 7 photos are "before" shots. This is the front end of the camper with the water damage. These photos also show the condition of the camper exactly as I purchased it. |
Look at this retro wallpaper! I would keep it if it matched the colors I plan to use but it doesn't. Not sure if I'll re-paper or do something else. What's your take on it? |
The carpet has to go. That's a definite change to come! |
The stove top has quite a bit of rust on it. Not sure, yet, how to clean it up. |
